Description

The bayonet had been approved at the beginning of 1908. It’s construction was inspired by Japanese Arisaka Type 30. It was manufactured till the begining of WWI mainly by Enfield but also by Wilkinson, Mole, Sanderson and Chapman in overall number about 230000. In 1913 the hooks were gradually removed, because the new hookless variant had been adopted. The first type of the scabbard for this bayonet is also unique – lower end is finished with steel butt, like in some Ross scabbards. later models have normal steel lower chape.

Very similar to this model is experimental 1913. It clearly differs with large distance between hilt and barrel ring. And probably by price;)
